A3187LU Allegro Hall-effect LatchA3187LU is a Hall-effect latch manufactured by Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. It is extremely temperature-stable and stress resistant sensor that is suited for operation over extended temperature ranges to +150C. The device's high-temperature performance is possible due to a novel Schmitt trigger circuit that maintains operate and release point symmetry by compensating for temperature changes in the Hall element.A3187LU has magnetic switch points that become more sensitive with temperature, whereby they offset the usual degradation of the magnetic field with temperature. The device is ideal for use in pulse-counting applications where duty cycle is an important parameter. The A3187LU has a single silicon chip, a voltage regulator, quadratic Hall-voltage generator, temperature compensation circuit and a signal amplifier. A3187LU also has a Schmitt trigger and a buffered open-collector output to sink up to 25 mA. The voltage regulator permits operation with supply voltages of 3.8 to 24 volts. The A3187LU has symmetrical switch points and has reverse battery protection. It has superior temperature stability as well as enables operation from unregulated supply.
